Really good news: risked a computer's life the other day trying to install Adobe products for free, just to find out that my school offers them with our assigned emails. Very cool.

Boring shit )

Speaking of book-related websites, I figure I'd give goodreads a try as I try to force myself back into reading actual, physical books. It'll be added on the sidebar, in case you're interested in keeping up with what shit psychological or historical book I'm reading. Or which Warrior Cats I'm up to.

I've also been getting interested in writing blog articles, so I'll link that when I get to it, too.

I know I've been setting up a lot of aspirational project-type things without any promise that I'll follow through with them, but I figure the more I expose myself to the projects themselves, the more motivated I'll feel in actually tackling them, if that makes sense. i.e. It's the thought that counts.

That's it, really. I've been feeling down, but there's a rise for every dip.

Oh, I went and got my hair styled yesterday. Looks fine. Went shopping at GoodWill and some other stores as well. Came out with a couple of t-shirts, a cheap blazer and a decent-looking tie.

PesterQuest is also on sale for 3 bucks right now. I'm persuaded to gift it to anyone that asks.

Old things

Yes it's late & I should be sleeping.

I'm visiting an old internet forum that I used to frequent when I was younger looking for early signs of the characteristics of my MBTI typing. It's just interesting? Cringey obviously, but interesting. I'm looking at it like a sign of growth.

I used to be very emotionally vulnerable with the strangers I'd call my friends. It's odd to see such a contrast in emotional availability from then to now.
I guess they say you change every three years. So, I'd have to have changed at least like 4 or 5 times from then to now. (this was about 2015-2016 so whatever math isnt happening right now)

I'm still very cringey still, mind you, just comparatively smarter about it. Of course I wish I wasn't, but doesn't everybody?

Good-night

I'm hoping I can make mine look a bit prettier, but between fiddling with the website and browsing the web, I came across a really impassioned philosophy teacher on YouTube. He's really engaging to watch. Seeing someone so passionate and articulate in their field is always so neat to me.

Prattle prattle... )

It's just interesting that a layout for learning can be applied to not only the arts, like I had initially assumed, but to everything that you might learn in life, or anything that you apply effort to. The professor I'm watching is able to teach and explain these rather complex philosophical ideas because it's what absorbs his life, and it's what he's invested long hours into. I'm sure teaching and being able to connect ideas in the way that he does and do it with such ease must give him a metric ton of adrenaline.

When you sort of put things within that context, it makes the arduous process of learning and note taking and test taking all the more worthwhile to me.
